Bespoke cleanroom manufactured for the research laboratory of University College Cork
Puracore® was approached by one of installation partners Clearsphere to supply a high specification clean room system for a research laboratory at one of Ireland’s leading universities, University College Cork.
The supply of an ISO 5 and 6 cleanroom system
The distinguished School of Pharmacy at University College Cork required a high specification fully flush cleanroom system that would meet EU GMP – Grade B and C Standards (ISO 5 and 6 equivalent).
High specification cleanroom components to meet project requirements
In conjunction with Clearsphere’s design, Puracore® manufactured a bespoke system of high specification cleanroom components. The system was constructed using a combination of FM aluminium honeycomb and mineral fibre core 50mm wall panels and 17.5mm lining panels. All walls and lining panels were finished with uPVC White food safe laminate to provide a completely flush, easy wipe and hygienic surface.
A number of vision panels were supplied along with one large flush vision panel to allow students and visitors to observe the cleanroom and its operations from an adjacent lecture room. As the cleanroom featured a number of different rooms a system of flush doors were supplied, each with an integrated safety interlock system for maximum contamination control. Puracore® also supplied a walk on ceiling system and a number of bespoke panels cut to fit transfer hatches and other ancillaries within them.
Cleanroom – The finished result
Puracore’s collaboration with Clearsphere resulted in a showpiece laboratory for University College Cork. The high quality fully flush cleanroom system provided the optimal environment for cleanrooms, preparation rooms, gowning rooms and a lobby.
